Luís Montenegro

Luis Montenegro was born in Porto on February 16, 1973. He is married and the father of two children.

He has a law degree from the Portuguese Catholic University, a post-graduate degree in Personal Data Protection Law and an Advanced Management Program from INSEAD.

A lawyer by profession, he founded the law firm SP&M, of which he was a partner until July 2022.

He was also chairman of the General Assembly of the Ferpinta Group and of Rádio Popular.

He was a member and President of the Espinho Municipal Assembly and a councillor on the respective City Council.

He was a member of the Portuguese Parliament from 2002, having been elected in four subsequent legislative elections (2005, 2009, 2011 and 2015), serving as a member of parliament for 16 years, and was President of the PSD Parliamentary Group between 2011 and 2017.

At party level, he has been president of the PSD since May 28, 2022.
