Rita Faden has a long career in the Portuguese Public Administration in the areas of foreign affairs, European affairs, justice, security and defense.
Rita Faden has held several senior positions, having been Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. She was also a member of the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Industrial Property.
Rita Faden has extensive experience of representing the Portuguese State and of international negotiations within the framework of the European Union and the United Nations.
Rita Faden was the Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff between 2015 and 2018.
Rita Faden has a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and a postgraduate degree in European Studies from the Portuguese Catholic University.
